Many people feel self-conscious about their nose as it’s their most prominent facial feature. Rhinoplasty, also known as a ‘nose job’, is a cosmetic surgery procedure to alter the size or shape of your nose.
- help improve the size and/or shape of your nose:
- narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip
- correct a birth defect or injury
- help to relieve some breathing problems.
My initial assessment of your face and nose, coupled with 3D imaging, will enable me to give you a realistic indication of what results can be achieved. I’ll explore what you’d like your nose to look like, evaluate the structure of your nose and face, and discuss the possibilities with you.
Rhinoplasty usually takes an hour or two and is performed under general anaesthetic as an in-patient. You’ll need to arrange for someone else to drive you home after your operation. Healing is a slow and gradual process although most patients are up and about the following day.
“It’s an incredibly personal decision to have rhinoplasty which is why I will spend plenty of time with you discussing options in order to achieve the look you want.” James Murphy, Plastic Surgeon, MB, ChB, ChM, FRCS (plast)
